Honor 6X Design & Display

Retains the composite metal design from last year Honor 5x. However, it’s not a uni-body design. The built quality is excellent a with curvier design with rounded corners with 2.5D curved glass to allow easy and comfortable handling.

It’s a 5.5″ FLD 1080*1920 pixels display delivering 403 PPI density. The only bummer is the washed out colors. The screen brightness is up to 450nit which is ideal for easy viewing under direct sunlight.

Honor 6X Specifications and Performance

The performance is good for a mid-rage phone, it’s fluid and response and delivers good frame rates for graphic intensive games which is its biggest strength given its price to performance.

  • Powered by Kirin 655 octa-core processor (16mm architecture) with 3GB/4GB RAM
  • 32Gb and 64GB Internal storage with expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD Hybrid slot

Honor 6X Camera

The rear camera has dual lens 12MP and a 2MP SONY IMX 386 sensor with 1.25-micron pixel size and a F/0.95-1.6 aperture range that allows you to focus as you wish to with the ultra-fast focus time of 0.3 seconds thanks to the PDAF  (Phase Detection auto Focus). The front camera is an 8MP with 77-degree wide angle and Prism ISP.

The 2MP Camera is used for capturing the depth information; the wide aperture range allows you to capture a large focal effect. While it gives you more or less depth of field however it doesn’t allow for more light to enter the camera, so it’s technically not a true aperture change. The focal effect though looks better.

Honor 6X Sound

It carries a single bottom firing speaker that sounds just ‘ok’ and not as loud as the competition.

Honor 6X Fingerprint Sensor

It’s quite responsive and as good as the ones found in the premium flagship devices. It doesn’t quite lead you to misread your fingerprint which is nice. It can also be used to answer a phone call, take photos, handle various swiping operations.

Honor 6X Battery

It houses a 3340mAh battery that is supposed to deliver up to 11.5 hours of video, 70 hours of music in just one charge. It’s claimed to last over 2 days for normal usage and about a day and a half on heavy usage. Though two days seems a big claim however, you can easily last a day and a half with medium to heavy usage.

It standby mode doesn’t eat up the battery thanks to the power efficient Kirin 665 processor.
